Marco Littame the fastest
The task is an elapsed time but everybody is taking off early. With the priority system and the take off team helping the pilots, everybody can launch within 20 minutes.
The first part of the task is in the mountain without difficulty. The cloudbase is better than expected at around 1600m. The third turnpoint is in the flatlands in the south with again good conditions between 1 and 2 m/s climbs. A group of 10 pilots is leading. Coming back to the mountain and going up again is harder. The second group is catching the first one. The pilots starting first are arriving in goal first but not faster.
Maurer and the Valic brothers are crossing the line like in the usual race to goal. Marco Littame is arriving 10 minutes later but as he started 23 mn later, he is winning the task with a flying time of 2h38. The lucky guy of the day is Nikolay Shorokov reaching goal with only two meters above the line. Klaudia Bulgakow is also making a very good task with only 12 mn more than Marco Littame. She makes the 15th position in front of many male pilots. Anja Kroll and Keiko Hiraki are also making goal.
With Littame, Pierandrea Patrucco and Jimmy Pacher in top positions, the "Squadra Italiana" is winning the day.
The weather for the next days looks good !
