Saturday June 21st: competition is stopped

During Thursday's task, Russian pilot Dmitry Maslennikov suffered a fatal accident.
It is likely that he had a major collapse, pushing him to a rock wall that he hit hard without giving him any chance to use his reserve parachute.
Nobody witnessed his accident as he was late in the task and away from the direct task route.
After search operations by helicopter, his body was found on Friday.

Dmitry was 26 and living in Moscow. A mass dedicated to Dmitry took place this morning in Castejón de Sos church.

Friday June 20th: task cancelled due to wind and over-developments

Today's task had to be cancelled due to strong local winds and over developments.

A new format for the Paragliding World Cup

CHANGING THE FORMAT, WHY ?



The purpose of the World Cup is to propose a competition with ALL top pilots from the world.
After 18 years of World Cup tour, things have changed and this goal is not fullfilled anymore.

Wednesday June 18th: 139km race... Stefan Wyss wins the task !

Sun and blue sky... perfect weather for a big task !

Stefan Wyss is the first in goal. More than 80 pilots reached goal.

Tuesday June 17th: 38km race started at 17:15... more than 100 pilots in goal, Karlo Bonacic wins the task.

The weather has improved but some rainfalls were still present all around the Castejon valley.
A short task of 38km staying close to Castejon finally starts at 17:15...
